Well this may turn out to be a hotter weekend than it already is, don’t you think? Details on Xiaomi’s next flagship wave—POCO F8 and REDMI K90—have surfaced via recent entries in Mi Code and the GSMA IMEI database.  More specifically, internal model data and Mi Code findings have confirmed Xiaomi’s processor choices for its upcoming POCO F8 and REDMI K90 series. As expected, Xiaomi is sticking with its two-tier approach—splitting the lineup between two Snapdragon chips.

At the high end, the POCO F8 Ultra and REDMI K90 Pro will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. Both share the codename Myron and use Xiaomi’s “P11U” internal platform. These are flagship-tier devices, designed to compete with top Android phones on performance, especially in gaming and camera specs.

Below that, the POCO F8 Pro and base REDMI K90 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite 1. These models are codenamed Annibale and run on the slightly more efficient P11 platform—still powerful, but aimed at broader markets.

Leica is out. Camera ambitions are not.

Camera branding is changing as well. The Leica partnership is ending for this generation. Sources say the licensing and branding costs—around $3–$5 per device—weren’t worth the return. Instead, Xiaomi is focusing on upgraded sensors and in-house tuning. Whether that ends up being better for users remains to be seen. The branding may be gone, but Xiaomi is clearly still invested in camera performance.

The structure here is familiar: split the line by chip, tweak branding and software per region, and reuse core platforms. It works, and Xiaomi knows it.

The REDMI K90 is expected to launch in China later this year, followed by the POCO F8 series in early 2026. There’s no sign of delays or major design shifts. This isn’t about surprises—it’s about refinement.
