Honor just presented the new Honor Magic 400 series to the world, and this lineup will fill the company’s gap of 2025 intermediary flagships. However, the company’s premium lineup, the Magic series, will also get an update this year with the Honor Magic8 series. Honor is effectively working on this new lineup, and new rumors suggest that there will be three smartphones in the family: Honor Magic8, Magic8 Pro, and Magic8 Mini. Yes, Honor is joining the new trend among Chinese brands of “mini” smartphones.
Honor Magic8 Mini, Magic8 and Magic8 Pro Rumored Specs Emerge
According to the rumors, the Honor Magic8 Mini isn’t exactly mini if you expect a comeback to the era of 4″ or 5″ inch smartphones. The device will come with a 6.3-inch display, and we believe Honor will make it smaller with a good body-to-screen ratio. The smartphone will come with MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 SoC. Yes, it’s right, MediaTek’s next flagship processor is set to replace Dimensity 9400 and 9400+. Considering this, we can conclude that the Honor Magic8 series is still a few months away from release. Interestingly, the Honor Magic8 will go with a 6.58-inch display and will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2. The Pro model will feature a 6.7-inch screen and should also come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
We also expect an Honor Magic8 Lite, but it’s unclear if it will join these three. Honor tends to split the release of the conventional and Lite variants. So the Magic8 Lite could launch later. The Magic7 and Magic7 Pro were announced back in October and were released in November. Now, with Qualcomm unveiling the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 in late September, Honor could bring its new flagships earlier. Of course, only time will tell.
As per the rumors, the Magic8 Pro will feature a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 200 MP periscope telephoto camera. We expect more specs to surface in due time.
