Do You Even Game? RedMagic 10S Pro+ Says You’re Not Hardcore Enough

RedMagic just dropped the curtain on its latest flagship gaming beasts, the RedMagic 10S Pro and 10S Pro+, and frankly, the spec sheet reads like something out of a fever dream. These aren’t just phones—they’re full-blown gaming rigs in a smartphone shell. Officially announced in China, the 10S Pro series picks up where last year’s RedMagic 10 Pro left off, but turns everything up to eleven. Faster chipset? Check. Bigger battery? Yep. Built-in PC emulator? Wait—seriously?

Snapdragon 8 Elite, Up to 24GB RAM, and a Whole Lot of Cooling

At the heart of both devices is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Leading Edition, clocked up to 4.47GHz, paired with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM—yes, 24—and UFS 4.1 PRO storage up to 1TB. That’s laptop-level hardware in a device that fits in your pocket.

To keep all that from melting down mid-game, RedMagic added Composite Liquid Metal Cooling 2.0, complete with a high-speed 23,000 rpm centrifugal fan (no typo), a 12,000mm² vapor chamber, and 5,200mm² of superconducting copper foil. It’s essentially a heat-sinked rocket engine with RGB lighting.

The phones also come with the Red Core R3 Pro chip—custom silicon designed to boost gaming performance with frame rate optimization and upscaling. Combined with the support for 2K+120FPS super-resolution, it’s clear RedMagic isn’t chasing casuals here.

Display That Dares to Go Bigger

Both phones feature the same 6.85-inch 1.5K OLED BOE Q9+ panel, boasting a 144Hz refresh rate and a staggering 2000 nits of peak brightness. It supports up to 2592Hz PWM dimming, which should help reduce eye strain for marathon sessions.

Touch sampling maxes out at 960Hz, and the panel hits 100% DCI-P3 for color depth. In real terms? It’s buttery smooth, stupidly bright, and color-accurate enough for editing highlight reels after you frag your friends.

PC Emulation on a Phone? Yep, That’s New

Here’s where it gets wild: RedMagic claims the 10S Pro series includes a built-in PC emulator that’s compatible with multiple Steam games. Now, before you uninstall your GPU drivers in a fit of mobile gaming euphoria, temper expectations—compatibility will likely vary, and we’ve yet to see what “PC emulator” really means here. But it’s a bold step, and if it works even semi-well, it could shift the landscape of mobile gaming entirely.

Cameras, Audio, and All the Extras

Don’t expect Pixel-tier photography, but the 50MP main sensor paired with a 50MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro still covers the bases. A 16MP under-display selfie cam uses next-gen AI to promise better image quality without breaking immersion.

There’s also:

  • 520Hz shoulder triggers
  • 0815 dual X-axis motors for vibration feedback
  • 3.5mm headphone jack (yep, still alive)
  • DTS:X Ultra stereo speakers
  • Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2

Basically, if it’s a gaming or audio feature, this phone probably has it.

Battery & Charging: A Tale of Two Monsters

Those numbers make typical flagships look almost delicate by comparison. You can watch a full game season or an anime arc, and still have enough juice to doomscroll Reddit before bed.

Pricing & Models (China-Only for Now)

The lineup is as stacked as the hardware. Here’s a breakdown:

RedMagic 10S Pro:

RedMagic 10S Pro+:

  • Dark Quantum 16GB + 512GB: ¥5,999 (~$832)
  • Silver Wing / Dark Knight 16GB + 256GB: ¥6,299 (~$874)
  • Top-Tier 24GB + 1TB: ¥7,499 (~$1,040)

Mingchao Limited Edition (10S Pro+):

Final Thoughts

The RedMagic 10S Pro series isn’t for everyone. It’s overkill in the best way, and unapologetically built for gamers who want raw performance, not just pretty Instagram photos. The inclusion of a PC emulator, active cooling, and monstrous battery specs push this lineup into uncharted territory.

Global launch details are still pending, but if RedMagic keeps this pricing remotely intact outside China, they’ll have a serious challenger to more mainstream flagships. Even if you’re not a mobile gamer, it’s hard not to be impressed. Or at least curious.
