Vivo Y400 Unveiled: A Budget-Friendly Powerhouse with Stellar Battery Life

So, vivo dropped a new phone called Vivo Y400. As usual in the Y-series, the device is here for the budget market, and the launch, honestly, does not make a huge splash. Despite this, there’s a lot to like here if you’re not chasing flagship specs. It’s a 4G device, which might sound outdated in 2025, but there are still some markets where 4G is the most used network if you’re in the market, after solid performance and great battery life.

Vivo Y400 Specifications and Key Features

Let’s start with the basics. Vivo’s new phone runs on the Snapdragon 685. It’s a modest chipset in 2025 with decent performance and energy efficiency. In simple words, it gets the job done in most tasks. Apps open fast enough, it doesn’t heat up, and battery life is the real star here. Vivo is not saving in this department. Users are getting a 6,000mAh battery, which is pretty huge. It supports 44W charging, so it’s not painfully slow when you do need to plug in.

The display surprised me a bit. It’s a 6.67-inch AMOLED, Full HD+, and runs at 120Hz, so scrolling feels smooth. Peak brightness goes up to 1,800 nits, which is great if you’re out in the sun a lot. Colors look rich, blacks are deep — you know the deal with AMOLED by now.

As for cameras, there’s a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX852) and a 2MP depth sensor, which helps with portrait shots. Don’t expect magic here, but it’ll do fine for casual pics and social media. It comes with Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15, which is nice if you like having the latest software.

One weirdly impressive thing: the phone is rated IP68 and IP69, meaning it’s dustproof and can handle high-pressure water. Not something you usually see in mid-range phones.

It’s available in Purple Twilight and Tropical Green. Right now it’s only listed on Vivo’s Indonesia site — no pricing yet, and no global release date either, but it’ll probably show up across Southeast Asia soon.
