Nothing rumored to be preparing new Lite or T phone models

Nothing recently released its latest smartphone, Nothing Phone (3), but there are already rumours that the company may be looking at new ways to expand its smartphone lineup. The rumor claims that Nothing is working on a new series that will use the “Lite” or “T” branding. At the moment, Nothing only has the numeric and Pro versions in its lineup, and the “Lite or T” model will bring a cheaper alternative.

Confusion over existing Pro models

The tip comes from an Indian leaker, Yogesh Brar, who suggests that “Pro models are just not cutting it.” That statement raises a few questions, considering Nothing hasn’t released many devices under the “Pro” label. In fact, the only recent model with such branding is the Phone (3a) Pro—a mid-range device with slightly better specs than the regular Phone (3a). If anything, that device seemed to exist more as a performance tweak than a proper premium tier.

What would a Lite or T model look like?

It’s uncertain which line of devices the rumored “Lite” or “T” suffixes would apply to. If Nothing is developing a Phone (3) Lite, that would likely mean a more affordable version of its current flagship. However, a Phone (3a) Lite could mean that it is working on an even cheaper model than the mid-range 3a. Therefore, it should be an upper entry-level device.

The source of the leak did not reveal any solid design details, timeline, or specifications. Nevertheless, the idea is great for any brand that is trying to cover more ground in the Android market. Offering more devices at different price points could help Nothing appeal to a wider audience beyond tech enthusiasts.

Too early to draw conclusions

It is important to note that the company has been gradually scaling up its hardware lineup. It is drifting from a niche debut of the Phone (1) to a more ambitious product in the Phone (3).

Whether the company is now planning a Lite version to attract more mainstream buyers or a T model to refresh its portfolio later in the year, the decision would fit the playbook of a maturing smartphone brand.

At this stage, though, the leak remains unconfirmed. So while it’s an intriguing hint at what may be next, we’ll have to wait for more reliable sources—or an official announcement—before drawing firm conclusions.
