Introduction

Poco has officially lifted the curtain on the new Poco F7, and it arrives as a strong contender in the value flagship space, exactly where it’s meant to be. As the successor to the much-loved F6, the F7 continues to define Poco’s playbook: deliver blistering performance and sleek design without commanding a flagship price.

Over the years, the F-series has become synonymous with remarkable performance-for-price-remember the trailblazing Poco F1 in 2018? That kick-started the legend, and models like the F3 and F5 built on that legacy with Top-tier chipsets, high-refresh-rate OLED screens, and cameras that punch above their weight. The F7 picks up that baton, slotting just above the X-series while undercutting premium killers in Xiaomi’s own roster-and it does so with a confidence that’s become Poco’s hallmark.

With the Poco F7, you get a Snapdragon 8-series processor (the S variant, but still technically a flagship chip), a vibrant 120 Hz AMOLED display, and a dual-camera setup promising everyday excellence. All of this comes wrapped in a polished design and backed by fast charging, all starting at a street price that makes you wonder how Poco still does it. In short, it’s everything we expected from a new F-series phone, and then some.

Honestly, there are very few obvious omissions from the Poco F7 specs sheet: the display is excellent on paper, the chipset is potent, the stereo speaker setup seems solid, connectivity appears superb. You also get IP68 ingress protection and a 6,500 mAh battery in our international unit (even more on the Indian model), plus fast 90W charging.

Unboxing

Living up to expectations all starts with the retail package. The Poco F7 ships in a solid two-piece cardboard box – black with bold yellow lettering, in keeping with the brand identity. The box is solid and protects the phone well. A cardboard cradle on the inside keeps the phone in place. We found no plastic other than a small baggy for the phone, which is pretty good environment-wise.

Now for the impressive bit – the accessory package. In keeping with tradition, Poco includes a charger in the box. In this case, it is a 90W Xiaomi unit with a USB Type-A port. It is accompanied by a proprietary USB Type-A to Type-C cable with an extra pin on the inside. You need to keep track of both bots to properly use fast charging on your device. The proprietary bit is admittedly a bit annoying, but we get that sticking to this older tech is still much cheaper. Moves like that allow Poco to also throw in a nice TPU case in the retail box, so you can start using your new phone immediately.
