Infinix GT 30 Pro with Built-In Shoulder Triggers and Cyber Reactive Lighting?

It seems that Infinix plans to refresh it highly successful GT series lineup, and some first leaks surrounding the upcoming GT 30 Pro model, suggest a bold new direction in gaming-focused design and control. If leaks are valid, the new GT 30 Pro model will feature capacitive shoulder triggers built directly into the phone’s frame and a redesigned reactive lighting system integrated into the rear panel.

Built-In Shoulder Triggers: A Game Changer?

For mobile gamers, this could be a game-changer. No need for external accessories; these capacitive touch buttons are designed to offer quick response times, potentially giving gamers an edge in fast-paced titles. Players may be able to map gameplay actions like crouch, aim, or skill activation to these triggers, enabling four- or six-finger setups commonly seen in MOBA and FPS gameplay. Leaks also point to macro support, enabling players to execute complex in-game actions with a single touch. It’s a thoughtful approach, though I wonder how often users will repurpose them outside of games.

Interestingly, these triggers may also serve as daily-use shortcuts—allowing users to quickly launch apps, control music, or take photos outside of gaming sessions.

Cyber Reactive Lighting Gets Smarter

According to the leaks, the company also plans to boost the rear design of the device with a feature called “Mechanical Light Waves”. This will be a lighting system that responds to various interactions—be it incoming calls, charging status, or in-game events. With over 20 lighting effects, it adds a dynamic visual element. While some might see it as a gimmick, others could appreciate the added flair.

The updated Mechanical Light Waves system includes:

  • 20+ customizable lighting effects
  • 14 real-world trigger scenarios, including calls, notifications, charging, music rhythms, and in-game moments (like kill streaks or ability triggers)
  • Adaptive lighting modes for daily life, entertainment, and gaming use

Aesthetic customizability is also in focus, with leaks suggesting three color variants—ranging from minimalist with soft lighting to bold RGB options that wear their gaming identity loud and proud.

Under the Hood: Performance Specs

Performance-wise, the GT 30 Pro is no slouch. It’s expected to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth visuals. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chipset, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage options. A 5,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support ensures prolonged gaming sessions without frequent recharges. On the camera front, a 108MP main sensor is accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 13MP front-facing camera. While cameras aren’t the primary focus here, they’re decent enough for everyday photography.

A New Direction for GT

While full spec details remain under wraps, it’s clear the GT 30 Pro is placing a strong emphasis on immersive control, personalization, and gamer ergonomics. The move away from external accessories toward integrated features suggests Infinix is taking cues from competitive mobile players—and delivering features they can actually use out of the box.

We expect to see the new Infinix GT 30 Pro model along with the XPad tablet, GT Buds earbuds, a GT power bank and more, before the end of this month globally. Stay tuned for more leaks and news of course.
